Haedal is a liquid staking protocol built on Sui that allows anyone to stake their SUI tokens to contribute to the governance and decentralization of the Sui blockchain. In the meantime, users will get haSUI in return as receipt tokens that can be used as liquidity to participate in various DeFi activities to earn additional yields. Besides, Haedal also supports staking WAL for haWAL to power the Walrus liquid staking.
haToken stands for Haedal staked token, it is minted when you stake SUI or WAL via Haedal's liquid staking infra.This is a yield bearing token which represents your ownership and share of the corresponding total liquid staking value on Haedal. As the staking pool continuously earns validator rewards for securing the Sui network, the value of haToken (haSUI or haWAL) will appreciate versus SUI or WAL. haToken will maintain all primary utilities of SUI, and can be used across the entire Sui ecosystem.
haToken will be deeply integrated throughout the Sui ecosystem. It can be used in various DeFi protocols and applications such as DEXes, lending protocols, CDP protocols, options trading platforms, etc. The goal of Haedal is to make haSUI and haWAL capable of doing anything that SUI and WAL can do.
haToken is a value-accruing token. The value of haToken automatically appreciate when there are new staking rewards harvested:
SUI
Regular unstaking - waiting for 1 epoch (around 24h);
Instant unstaking - no waiting time is needed
WAL
Withdrawal requests before Midpoint of Epoch e-1 release assets at the start of Epoch e;
Post-Midpoint requests release asstes in Epoch e+1.
Sui Network is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain for scalable smart contracts, while Walrus Protocol is a decentralized storage protocol built on Sui, specializing in data storage solutions. They share ecosystem resources but serve distinct roles: Sui nodes validate transactions, while Walrus nodes manage storage. It's worth noting that WAL token is also created on the Sui Network.
